Success rates vary depending on different factors such as the age of the patient, their condition, medical history and the line of treatment administered. 

The IVF procedure can be opted in cases where the other fertility treatments have failed, or if the chances of a successful pregnancy are higher with IVF than with any other treatment. If there are no contraindications, the IVF procedure can be carried out simply at the request of the couple. 

Tubal-peritoneal factor – When the fallopian tubes’ patency is violated, the egg is unable to enter the uterus. In this situation, you can either undergo IVF and implant an already-developing embryo into the uterus or attempt to restore patency by a surgical laparoscopic procedure.  Endometriosis – Hormonal therapy and surgery are typically effective in treating mild endometriosis. The doctor refers the couple for an IVF procedure if pregnancy is not achieved following therapy. 

Age-related infertility – Age plays a critical role when we talk about deciding the right time for IVF. With age as a factor of infertility, it is better to supplement the standard IVF procedure with ICSI and assisted hatching methods.  

 Anovulation – Anovulation is normally treated with simpler treatments, such as hormonal stimulation paired with IUI, but if that fails, IVF is always an option. However, if it fails, you can always try IVF. 

Unexplained infertility – Sometimes it is not possible to establish an accurate diagnosis, and the therapy is unsuccessful, then the doctor may advise the couple on advanced fertility treatments like  IVF procedure. 

In this procedure, the female egg is extracted under anaesthesia and fertilised in the laboratory with the husband’s sperm. After 3-5 days, the embryo is placed back into the uterus.
